Let Go
"Let Go"
Original Artwork by Elicia Ward
As adults we sabotage ourselves to meet back with our most impactful moments we experienced as children. We don’t consciously choose this but we repeat the cycle until one day we see the beneath the surface, we see the drivers behind our own behaviours clearly enough to make a choice & it’s only then we have the power to change.
“I’m still that same little girl in that empty house
Freezing with emptiness banished from any form of support
In the silence the walls screamed how worthless I was & that’s why I was alone
Yes I have built empires within to withstand the cold
But still I end up with my back against the wall alone in the dark”
In my life I have consistently manifested abandonment, rejection, betrayal & loneliness. This was my childhood, I felt comfortable here because I thought I deserved it. But as an adult I see it wasn’t me who deserved that treatment it was actually the fault of the people who were suppose to protect & care for me.
From here I choose to let go of these limiting beliefs, I deserve to be loved, respected, cared for & treated with integrity.
