Building Rainbows
"Building Rainbows"
Original Artwork by Elicia Ward
"I Thought the Torment of Storms I Endured would Poison my Sight to Dark Until My Final Day. But it Didn’t. All that Raging Chaos was Simply Building Rainbows Inside of Me" - By Elicia Ward
Inspiration
As the title suggests I have felt my past, filled with all sorts of struggles and heaviness would win, and I would fall and be left with nothing. But the strength I found within me to be the person I am, as big and as bold as I am was able to really shine at the end of my path to empowerment. I have over come so much in my life I wanted to express the happiness and strength that comes with determination, courage and focus.
Description
The Umbrella represents protection set against washed out grey tones and drab of everyday existence in the top right hand corner of the painting. In the middle ground and background I have used intense warm tones to represent the passionate fire that life has thrown at me and the cooler tones show the aged fires that have turned to ash and rubble. In the bottom left hand corner you will see the silhouette of my inner child, she is holding her arm out strong and undisturbed by the storm behind.
